This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
Sun attempts to break through dark and unforgiving clouds that stretch across the the scene. This creates an explosion of oranges and yellows in the distance. In the foreground a farm’s industrial watering wheels spray what the clouds will not give … Water onto the darkening fields. The Sun’s battle to be seen will soon be put to end as the sun is soon to fall below the horizon.
Riley Oregon, where this picture was taken, is in Southern Oregon. East of Bend.
You see these huge watering contraptions on wheels throughout rural eastern Oregon. I am not sure where the water is coming from to feed these rigs and grow those crops, Many parts of Oregon would not be able to grow crops without the constant watering that is done.

About David Engstrom
My first shutterbug adventure came at the age of 22 when I took a Black and White Photography class at the Local community college. You can see some of the photographs from this class scattered among my portfolio here. Some of the images remain as they were in 1983. Some others have been remastered using modern software to be something quite all together different. I first came into contact digital imaging when I took what I thought was going to be...
